Sock Monkeys at the Rockin' Kid Shop

The Rockin' Kid Shop is a cute, hip kiddie boutique in Eagle Rock, CA.  As of Monday they are now rockin' Linda Lu Sock Monkeys!  I'm so happy to have them in this shop.  It's a great (temporary) home for my fun little friends.  I hope they find their permanent homes with wonderful children to love them.

Seriously though, Miss Angelique has been busy with logos and splashpages and banners, etc.  She even fixed up my blog for me!  The photo of my daughter and I was done by her as well (she's got skills). Out of the Bag

I've started making some tote bags. I love the size, the feel, the inside pocket... they're good. I've had the idea to do tote bags for a little while now and finally the day came. The purpose in the beginning was to use up some of the fabrics I have. I absolutely adore this Amy Butler fabric. I made a few girls dresses with this and had a bit left over. It's such a great design. Anyways, I've made a few bags now and sent them over to Escape Salon in Newport Beach, CA. If you're in the neighborhood you can go in and get a bag! lol
Better yet you can get an amazing facial from Marisa. Heaven. Really.
Angelique is busy working on my logo and I received the finals yesterday. It felt like Christmas. This is such an exciting process. So exciting that I had trouble sleeping last night. The ever-growing pregnant belly doesn't help either. I can't wait to show you what she's come up with. We are doing two different logos. One for Linda Lu Designs and one for My Lu. "My Lu" will be for all of my infant/toddler products. The name is a little bit of "Skip to my lu" and a lot of a dedication to my children. So out of the bag, here's a big reveal.... we are going to name our boy Lucas. Therefore, you have MY for our daughter Maya and LU for our son Lucas. My Lu.

New Beginnings

I am excited to report that I will soon have my own website here at www.lindaludesigns.com.

I am starting out with my blankets, throw blankets, baby blankets and loveys.  I will add other products later on down the line.  I have some exciting promotional opportunities that I will share with you as they happen.  My dear and talented friend Angelique will be designing and building my logo, website and overall image.  Of course, with my input.  However, even if I never said a word, I think she'd do a fantastic job.  She knows me very well (perhaps too well).  We've known each other for 15 years now.  That's a long time to know someone!

If you haven't seen my blankets, take a look at some of the ones I've posted on my flickr account.  Don't bother looking at my Etsy shop.... it's empty.  I haven't posted anything there in a while. 

All of this is happening now, 3 months before the arrival of my 2nd child.  A little bit scary, but mostly exciting.  I can't help but think of how well I am always taken care of, despite my best efforts to let fear make me walk away from it all.  This is truly what I love to do.  I love to design and make products that "WOW" people.  I love to create.  Period.  I love to create and it's nice to have my creations appreciated by others.  So much so that they want to have my creations in their homes, on their beds, on their children and on their grandchildren!  What a good feeling that is.  Such an honor.
